On a non-specific, spiritual/religious denomination, I want to open up a discussion of what possibly happens to our souls after we die and how old our souls could possibly be. Grab a coffee/tea or whatever, this might be a long post.
Where did could we possibly have come from, soul-wise?
I've heard from new ager's that our souls come from stars. I hear from scientists and astronomers that our bodies are the same matter as stars. I'm not going into ape vs. Adam and Eve debates, but I firmly believe that our souls may have existed in a previous worlds or have been made up by the same old matter as the stuff that was created by the creation of the universe, no matter how you believe it came about. But, and a big but, I still believe that new matter and energies are still being created. New souls are being created. If we look back at the human history of the Earth, apparently, the population has exploded. If reincarnation is a real thing, then where would the other, newer souls come from? If you've ever heard the term "old soul", we associate old souls as having a spirit that has been reincarnated many times. How many times is a mystery. These people seem to be aware and have a better understanding of the big picture of their life mapped out at a very young age. They may be quieter, more or less impatient, not as adventurous, and have a specific goal in mind that they feel they must stick to. In their elderly years, they feel more ready and willing to pass on, feeling complete satisfaction that their business has been fulfilled. I know it's a cliché. I'm not saying that is the absolute characteristic of old souls. Even a young soul, if they apply themselves and live a full life can have a sense of completion of life in their elder years. What I'm getting at is I read that there are doors, or gateways/portals that are presented to you when it's time for your spirit to move on. Not just 2 for Heaven and Hell (I will get to that later), but quite a few. There is a portal to seek God or a higher power for the purpose of becoming an adversary, like an angel, messenger or spirit guide, etc. A portal to prepare for another life on Earth. A portal for troubled souls, a.k.a. Hell/Hades. And, there is a portal that very rarely anyone chooses because, supposedly, there is a dark, vast space that contains a web-like structure where only those who do not wish to ever seek a living form again go to and they just becomes a star-like body. These portals can be peeked into without actually going into them. But once you step into them, then that is your fate. Again, this is stuff I've read and the reason I'm bringing it up is because I feel there is some possible smidgen of reality here.
The description of the web-like structure set in a dark space sounds like the web-like structure the stars and galaxies create in certain areas that the Hubble Space telescope as captured. This also goes back to the theory that we are all made up of stars and nebula gases, both spirit and physical body.
It's interesting to think about, at the very least, that this portal exists and the odd soul decides this as their final stage of their spiritual life. You would have to be very, very old to consider this as an option, almost to the point of being too spiritually exhausted to have any desire to be reincarnated. To get this point, I imagine that most of these spirits have now passed on to becoming messengers or have chosen the web. It would be interesting to know how old spirit can get and if we can actually make that decision to move on to an ultimate realm or not.
What happens to all our souls?
Reincarnation
To decide what other portal to move into, I would like to think this is a highly personal decision and may not be completely in our control. To be reincarnated, I've heard we can choose whom we would like to be born to. Even though, yes, there are some terrible people who have kids who probably shouldn't, if it is true that we can decide on who we are born to the choice may be more complicated and beyond our understanding of reasons. If you take a look at our deep nature we tend to do things that aide society as much as our close families. At least, older souls do. Have you ever read or know of a case where justice has been served only because the suspect has a child that turned them in, or the suspect had gotten pregnant and then they were able to turn their life around because the child was taken from them leaving a life altering scar in their lives. However, not even a spirits choice is a definite prophecy into the outcomes. I believe that if reincarnation is a thing we are taking a gamble, but I don't believe it's in vain.
Another reason for reincarnation a drive to experience things that we were not able to do in our previous lives. Perhaps we want to sky dive, find cures to diseases, visit places we weren't able to go to before. I think that with every chance at life we get better with our decisions.
If you ever notice, and it is very imminent on social media and viral videos, that there are quite a bit of new souls, millions upon millions, compared to a century ago. All very naïve, highly inexperienced and unable to foresee bad ideas. Older souls have been subconsciously keeping vital information that comes out as intuition and phobias. I will say this quickly, I believe our most mysterious phobias have something to do with an event that happened to us in a previous life, even during the afterlife process and our intuitions originate as wisdom that has been strongly imbedded into us. Not all wisdom, as our parents and guardians have raised us, so we should give them credit. But have you ever been in a situation where you know that something just isn't right or you just have this feeling that you need to rethink a decision? Young, newer souls, may not have that same level of wisdom and intuition. They can sure learn it in their life that they might carry with them in another life, but it has to be learned. Sure, teens get a bad rep as all being careless, dumb and selfish. Not quite so on the dumb part. They have been going to school for a large part of their life. However, if you really take a look at comments and observe them, you will see that there are those that are more mature and level-headed than others.
Heavenly messengers, guardian spirits/angels
The other portal, as mentioned, is a high sector that works closer to God. (When I say God, I'm not specifically referring to any religion. But when you talk about a universal creator or higher power, many people refer it as God. This is in no way shoving religion down anyone's throat. You can translate God according to your beliefs, that's fine. I won't be offended or correct you.)
There isn't too much known about the process and how or where these souls come from and who, what or how the decision to appoint these spirits to this title comes about. My only guess is that these spirits were either created specifically for that role or these spirits have earned their title and have been given the option to work closer to God.
It could, also, be possible that these appointed souls decide to work closer to humanity in an Earthly form and still keep their title or their role. I think, though, that these people are ones that are off in the field to prove themselves or earn a higher ranking. It begs the question on how "angelic" angels and guardian spirits really are in terms of selflessness.
The famous angels that we hear in some religious preaching and stories, the archangels, the angels in traditional interpretation, with the wings and halo, I don't think were ever human. It's theorized they have always been the way they were and are direct and purposefully created to their roles by God or higher power. Whatever the case, I believe that their realm is the very Heaven we mainly strive to reach when we die. I don't believe it is necessarily the utopia we imagine. The typical Heaven we interpret as being on clouds and lazing around playing musical instruments and waiting to help someone. Some people think of it as a peaceful paradise. Others may think of that idea as too boring and tedious, a sort of Hell.
As I said I would explain what I believe Heaven and Hell is all about. I think it's created by us and much of our ideas are completely false. I don't believe we go to the center of the Earth if you haven't lived a strictly positive, angelic life. When I think of the description I think of a star. A flaming, fiery ball of heat and gas. The same matter we're made from. Referring to the scientific research that has found that our DNA holds traces of our ancestors health, preferences, physical characteristics, personality, even fears and phobias (which can be added to the possibility of where our unfounded phobias may stem from.), it is highly possibly that even their memories, values and beliefs can be passed along down the line. These may show up in the next generation or may show up quite a few generations later. Even centuries or millenniums later, for all we know. What if our perception of Hell and even the supposed claims of those who have had near-death visits to Hell, I have to wonder if those visions are a result of an ancient memory that is part of our DNA. DNA isn't static. It can be morphed, mutated, altered. Certain strands and points can become deactivated and reactivated, I think, just like when certain characteristics of our ancestors show up in later generations.
The other/darker place
This portal is a bigger mystery. I've heard that you will see a succession of dreary, morbid souls lined up, walking slowly to this doorway. That is all that's been said. These are people who committed suicide. It's almost like the spirit world and the universe just doesn't know what to do with these souls. Just because suicide is illegal here, doesn't mean it's universally law-breaking. Does it? What lies on the other side could be anything. I don't believe it's a hellish place, perhaps maybe a spiritually cleansing place full of therapeutic reconditioning. Perhaps it's an area with other portals for you to decide what should happen to you next. I don't know but I don't think suicide frees your spirit due to the popularity of victims of suicide coming back to their previous homes and spots where they died. Just like people on Earth, spirits have to want to be helped.
So that leaves the question of what happens to the lowest of low in society. All those criminals and what not. Well, if you can believe it or not, MOST regret the crimes in their life by the time they get to death's door. These souls can be spiritually cleansed. It all depends on many factors. Just like we don't expect to be grounded or punished as an adult by our parents when they find out something we did bad when we were young kids, I don't think our deeds have much merit or relevancy in a higher, spiritual realm. Those that have committed awful crimes on humanity? It's hard to say.
I've noticed there is a distinct conflict of good and evil on all levels on Earth right now. I believe that, just like angels and guardians, there are demonic entities that manifest as humans. Some enter the Earth by breaking through the veil of the afterlife. I do think that these beings can interact with our spirits in the afterlife, but only in that very delicate veil, before the portals. They may keep souls from moving on, they may try to lure souls into their realm. This could be another interpretation of Hell/Hades.
