The ShadowlandsThis is a great resource to learn where haunted places are. This is also a good time to learn how to use the search/find function on your web browser.

I've used Shadowlands for years and tried to submit stories and haunted places, but nothing was ever published as far as I know. They don't look into claims or do anything to verify the legitimacy of claims and histories. Anything goes there. You still have to look into everything yourself and then you end up in sites that have more information.

Yeah, I have as well. The site's design is rather poor. I've toyed with the thought of recreating that website and make a more... better version. Something that easily searchable and user upload, detailed informations... things of that nature.

I have a desktop computer that's just collecting dust in storage that I started making a haunted location website with. I'll have to sift through my external harddrives to see if I've made a backup copy so I could just working on it on my laptop. It was nice and clean but in the old html format. I'd have to update it a lot to make it functional. I don't mind. Just need to find the time to do it. Other than juggling work, being a parent, and my sleep, time is stretched. lol

I'd absolutely love it if someone came up with an alternate haunted place index instead of The Shadowlands. I had an interest in looking up haunted places a few years ago and found The Shadowlands site. As I mentioned somewhere else the descriptions didn't sound the least bit reliable but more like a group of kids typed up ghost stories from a slumber party or campfire, complete with misspelled words, and put them online. Some of the places I knew didn't exist or had really poor descriptions of the location. There were places that paranormal groups investigated that weren't on the list. I tried updating the list but the list never even updated typos. When I looked for other sites I found several that were using the list from Shadowlands verbatim, typos and all, as the list on their own sites.
It's time for someone to post a list that is a little more credible.
