Among this earth there are many things we have been given. This thread is here to touch on the many plants that have recognized medical use as well as magical attributes. This listing is not ment to replace the proper medical advice of doctors. Some of what we were given can be cures and others are poison, many can be both for the poison is in the dose.
Such is the case with Digitalis, otherwise known as Fairyglove, Witchesglove, Deadmans Bells, it is known by many names, but I have always favored the title of Foxglove{for they would fit well a foxes foot, and a fox that wears them is invisible to faries and can sneak up and eat them}, it was the name I was first taught.
Some think its name came from legends of the fairy folk. Others think it was a way that foxes warned each other of those that would hunt them. Whichever the case its a very useful plant.
Foxglove is traditionally been used as a heart medicine for the last 500{roughly} in written history. The curative use have mostly been replaced in out time by Nitroglycerin in the more developed countries. A odd change in itself, using something that was made to destroy into a medicine.

Foxglove should not be handled without protection if mishandled you could get a rash, nausea, headaches or other unwanted side effects. It is wise to take a lesson from the animals for they do not eat or touch this plant. Never eat this plant it will almost certainly kill you or use it medically without the assistant of a doctor, if you should burn it do not breathe the smoke.
As for the magical uses of of any herb they can have many meanings depending on the path you view them from. I have heard it as a plant of protection from evil energies and a helper of psychic power,a way to contact the faries{or invite them around your home if planted there}, lastly some consider it bad luck to bring Foxglove indoors as it angers the faries.
In closing a deadly plant its true, but a plant that can also give life, in the right dose.
